Dr. Woosik Chung

Dr. Woosik Chung is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon based in Denver, Colorado, renowned for his expertise in treating complex spinal conditions. With over 16 years of experience, Dr. Chung specializes in advanced degenerative spine disorders, scoliosis, cervical spine issues, and revision surgeries. He employs cutting-edge techniques, including minimally invasive procedures, artificial disc replacement, and 3D navigation spine surgery, to provide personalized care to his patients.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Chung’s journey into medicine was profoundly influenced by a childhood accident that resulted in the severing of both his hands. His father, a surgeon, successfully reattached them, instilling in Dr. Chung a deep appreciation for the healing power of medicine. This personal experience fuels his compassionate approach to patient care.

Dr. Chung earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University, followed by a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Columbia University and a spine surgery fellowship at Emory University.

Dr. Chung served as the Spine Medical Director at multiple hospitals including Porter Adventist Hospital and Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, where he led a multidisciplinary team dedicated to comprehensive spine care. He is also fluent in Korean and is committed to serving a diverse patient population.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Chung is an avid martial artist and enjoys snowboarding, cycling, and running with his wife, embracing the active Colorado lifestyle.
